Job Description

The Sales Specialist is responsible for supporting the Sales Manager in all aspects of commercial negotiation including cost, quality, timing, and delivery for pursuit, current, forward and past model service parts for assigned Customers.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Forward Model/Current Model/Past Model Service Parts:
    • Negotiate Engineering Change Piece Price and Tooling
    • Negotiate Short Cycle and Low Volume Claims
    • Negotiate Capacity Study Piece Price and Tooling
    • Respond to Service part RFQs from Customers
    • Manage End-Item Product Bump Sheets
    • Manage new service part set-up (external and internal)
    • Input and maintain customer records/pursuits and data in Salesforce.
    • Coordinate Special Studies / Investigations.
    • Provides inputs to the service strategy including price breakdown provided with the OE quote or costed production BOM
    • Concurs on overall service strategy and associated financial impact on the project.
    • PO processing and verification of commercial details prior to entering into the ERP system.
    • May also function as Service Project Leader based on local practice.
    • Lead Past Model Annual Piece Price Negotiations
    • Coordinate Back-up Detail for Transition from Current Model Service Pricing to Past Model Service Pricing
    • Ensures efficient customer service operations including order administration, order status, problem resolution and technical support
    • Support Customer Approval of tooling disposition/reuse for Customer Owned Tooling
  • Lead Cash Recovery Efforts:
    • Resolve Unpriced Part Issues.
    • Verify Index Based Material Piece Price Adjustments
    • Coordinate other material recovery efforts included tiered supplier increases
    • Resolve end item piece price mismatches
    • Resolve Unpriced part issues
    • Manage Supplier Code Issues.
    • Resolve Customer Late Payment Issues.
    • Track and negotiate parts transitioning from Current Model to Past Model
  • Support Customer Relationships:
    • Attend Customer Sponsored Events Including Town Hall Meetings.
    • Coordinate HANON SYSTEMS Sponsored Events Including Technology Shows.
    • Support Customer Presentation Preparation.

Job Requirements

Years of Experience

5+ years’ experience in a sales or sales support role at a tier 1 supplier.

Degree Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, manufacturing or finance.

 

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Experience gained within an automotive (OEM or Tier1 supplier) sales, program management and/or business development environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Automotive Market (customer, technologies, competitions and market trends etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and formulate reports recommending future market opportunities with our customers in the assigned region.
  • IT literate including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Salesforce.

 

Special Requirements (i.e., Overtime, Travel, etc.)

  • Some travel will be required.
  • Overtime required as needed.
