Job Description


The nominee is responsible to launch awarded programs flawlessly on time and to program budget. The nominee is also responsible for being the main purchasing point of contact for the pursuit and program team. He or she will work with the commodity team to ensure the sourcing selection meets program targets.

Typical Duties

  • Work collaboratively with Core PD, Regional pursuit team and regional commodity team to provide costed BOM, and input to Quote team, and with objectives to win more business for company.
  • Deliver costed BOM (piece price, vendor tooling, timing) to the program
  • Coordinate with cost estimating when necessary
  • Coordinate with commodity purchasing for parts to be quoted
  • Lead internal purchasing kick-off meeting/program review
  • Verify compatibility with commodity strategies and bid lists
  • Ensure commodity buyer have approved all cost inputs.
  • SSOW Coordination (internal & external)
  • Initiate and coordinate capacity analysis with commodity buyers for carryover parts
  • Support program phase reviews
  • Maintain costed BOM and tooling
  • Maintain program deliverables via tracking tools
  • Ensure parts are sourced and tools kicked-off on time
  • Monitor tooling, PPAP and IMDS progress
  • Program Lead for sourcing board and to confirm final sourcing with commodity buyers
  • Manage design and non-design changes with commodity and provide inputs to the program team via tool
  • Ensure POs and TOs are issued via the commodity buyer on time and at/below target

Job Requirements

2-5 years’ work experience in automotive industry functional of commodity/program purchasing, supply management and procurement

DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in business or technical (engineering is a plus)


3+ years of experience in automotive industry, functional of commodity/program purchasing, supply management and procurement • Strong analytical experience and data modeling using Excel. • Ability to multitask and manage several projects and assignments simultaneously. • High sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product is critical. • Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (i.e. Overtime, Travel, etc.): Occasional travel required (domestic and international). Occasional overtime or schedule flexibility required. This opportunity is located in Van Buren Township, MI at Grace Lake Corp. Center.
