    The Launch Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing processes related to new product launches and changes.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with program management, product design engineering, and manufacturing teams to meet cost and timing targets for launch programs.
    • Attend gate reviews and maintain reporting of launch activities.
    • Coordinate all APQP activities within the plant, coordinate with quality assurance, and develop and/or assist with preparation of PPAP documentation including Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, and Control Plan.
    • Receive Engineering Bill of Material and convert to Manufacturing BOM. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the most recent part is loaded into the system with proper costs.
    • Develops and evaluates manufacturing capacity and methods used for new product launch.
    • Recommends and evaluates new equipment and manpower needs for new products.
    • Develop plant layouts in conjunction with the manufacturing team in the plant.
    • Develop equipment and tooling quotes with suppliers.
    • Enter Purchase Requisitions as needed
    • Track, document, and report all open issues to closure.
    • Analyze advanced quality planning documents, FMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Charts, Gage R&R studies, and capacity studies.
    • Troubleshoot concerns and issues that arise during implementation and startup of new product/process equipment launch.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering; Mfg./ME/QE

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Automotive Manufacturing Assembly experience
