Job Description

 

Typical duties:

  • Lead Buyer Assistant for Americas Commodity Purchasing, supporting North & South America
  • Support Americas Commodity Purchasing team members with key initiatives/activities including:
    • Manage overall sourcing and design change / pricing transactions including:
      • RFQs
      • Quote analysis
      • Contract issuing
      • Sourcing / pricing approval submission/routing
      • PO/TO execution
    • Support Sourcing Board meetings to deliver on-time sourcing/status, as required
  • Track and develop/execute (as required) plans to deliver cost savings (Econ) to meet annual targets
  • Supplier capacity planning/management confirmation and follow up
  • Supplier Financial Health assessment deliverables and follow up
  • Supplier code management creation, routing, and follow up (GSR and EFT)
  • Support Purchasing department with other/miscellaneous activities/initiatives, as required

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2-3 years in Purchasing organization with transactional experience in quoting, sourcing, reporting, etc
  • Degree (one of the following): BS in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering

 

Desired competencies/experience:

  • Strong analytical experience and data modeling using Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc)
  • ERP systems experience: QAD, SAP
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects and assignments simultaneously
  • High sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product is critical
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Special requirements (ie: Overtime, Travel, etc): Occasional overtime and schedule flexibility required
