Job Description

This position is responsible for leading Hanon’s Americas Innovation Center (AIC) Advanced Engineering, and CAD / CAE teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:


Responsible for managing Americas Advanced Systems Engineering

  • Manage Thermal System and Refrigerant/Air Handling Subsystems for customer applications and pursuits to support thermal systems integration of existing and new product technology.
  • Manage Cooling System and Powertrain Cooling/Battery Thermal Management Subsystems for customer applications and pursuits to support thermal systems integration of existing and new product technology.
  • Provide System/Subsystems level development and design verification to OEM requirements
  • Provide customer system recommendations for vehicle and component level changes
  • Conduct refrigerant subsystem durability KLT testing to customer and/or internal requirements
  • Deliver awarded system level projects and programs for electric/autonomous applications
  • Develop advanced refrigerant subsystems in support of Hanon technologies supporting electric and autonomous vehicle pursuits with start-up and established OEM’s EV/AV projects
  • Conduct self-funded subsystem/system development to prevent vehicle level field or customer issues related to Hanon products
  • Manage and support all system and subsystem business pursuit efforts in support of climate component sourcing and new/current customer project engagement
  • Provide subsystem validation for new refrigerant components, 1234yf/R744 refrigerants.
  • Properly size and select refrigerant subsystem component to meet customer’s a/c requirements
  • Cascade subsystem/component requirements that support meeting OEM vehicle requirements
  • Manage special projects as requested by the customer to assist in resolving customer system related issues (revenue based)
  • Utilize systems expertise to assist customer in issue resolution and root cause determination for system level and component related issues.


Responsible for managing the CAE/CFD Team

  • Provide CAE/CFD analysis in support of customer applications for all product group needs
  • Support product groups in delivering customer expectations as they relate to CAE/CFD
  • Develop next generation modeling tools to reduce reliance or eliminate development/ DV testing
  • Develop CAE tools to predict, design for and evaluate NVH acoustical performance.
  • Support all products needs for modeling at component, subsystem and system levels.
  • Adhere to and support global processes and standards for CAE/CFD


Responsible for managing CAD/MDS Teams

  • Provide CAD modeling and detailed design to Engineering for all products
  • Construction and D&R for all CAD internal and external deliverables
  • Provide seamless product 3D modeling and 2D assembly/component drawings in support of program deliverables
  • Manage CAD tools, data transfer and other processes required to support the business.
  • Leverage resources to efficiently manage personnel and purchased service costs while supporting engineering CAD and release requirements
  • Manage Master Data Services team
  • Adhere to and support global processes and standards for CAD internal and external releases


Job Requirements

Years of Experience

Minimum of 7 years related experience


Degree Preferred

BS in Engineering is required; graduate degree or higher is preferred

Special Requirements

Some international and domestic travel expected (10-20%). Teleconferences at times outside traditional US workday are expected in order to accommodate schedules in Europe and Asia.
